What a week! This week I had the great opportunity to be invited as speaker at Microsoft TechDay Baltics 2016. The most interesting part was that we were in 3 days in 3 different countries (Estonia Letonia Lituania). It was pretty challenge, because we had to take the airplane every evening to go to the next location and we were around 30 persons. I assume that more than half of the people from the airplane were part of TechDay Stuff. During this week I meet wonderful people, that love what they are doing and share there knowledge with others. For me, it was the first time in Baltic countries and I was surprised to discover beautiful cities like Vilnius, Riga and Tallinn. Last week we had in Cluj-Napoca last ITCamp event in Cluj-Napoca for this year - Winter Code Camp . For this events we decided to talk about the new version of ASP.NET and MVC. Last week I delivered a two days workshop about .NET Fundamentals. This two days workshop covered the base pillars of programming in C#. Topics like: - C# Syntax - Creating methods - Handling exceptions - Monitoring applications - Working with classes - Type-Safe collections - Class Hierarchy - Using Inheritance - Accessing Database - Working with streams - Improve application performance - Improve application responsiveness - Encrypting / Decrypting - Reusable Types and Assemblies - Reflection - C# 6.0 were covered during this workshop.

The ' Implementing effective web applications with Microsoft web stack ' workshop ended a few days ago. We had two full days at the end of last week where ITCamp community members had the opportunity to learn and discover how we can develop web application using Microsoft technologies. The two day event was held at City Plaza Hotel in Cluj-Napoca (July 9-10, 2015). At this event there were almost 60 people that had the opportunity to learn web programming secrets from Andrea Saltarello. Different topics were discussed during this two days like: Security ASP.NET MVC AngularJS SOA WebAPI Entity Framework vNext Routing The trainer prepared a very interesting sample code for this workshop that can be found on CodePlex ( nsk.codeplex.com ). Yesterday (June 10, 2015) I was invited to speak at  IT Innovation Conference SIBIU , about IoT from Azure perspective. The official name of "Internet of Things in Practice". I replaced one of my colleagues (Petru J.) that was not able to attend to this conference. There were around 60 people that attend to my session. I had 2 full hours to talk about Azure and IoT. We discussed the past solutions that were available on Azure, what are the current services that can help us to create a IoT solution. At the end of course we talked about the future and what Microsoft is preparing for us - big things will happen. Also, we realised together that Machine Learning is very important and this is the perfect moment to start understand the concept and try it. Today I had the opportunity to be one of the speakers of DevTalks conference. The conference was pretty interesting, with 4 different tracks in parallel (Web,  Mobile and IoT, Cloud and BI/BigData). From this perspective, attendees had a lot of options. The thing that I liked at this conference was the subjects that were presented. It was not a conference only about a specific stack (only Java or Microsoft). Because of this, I decided to talk about cloud and to not take only Azure in consideration. I analysed all cloud providers that are on the market and I tried to expose what people should take into consideration where they are moving from on-premises to cloud. Based on DevTalks website it seems that there were: 416 attendees 44 speakers 40 presentations 4 even stages (tracks) There are a lot of "4" in this statistics. This week I was invited to the first meeting of " .NET Cluj Meetup " community in Cluj-Napoca. At this meeting I talk about Azure App Services and presenting the new feature of Web Apps that are available on the new portal ( portal.azure.com ). Below you can find the slides from the presentation.

This weeks I had the opportunity to attend to CloudBrew conference in Belgium The conference is organized by Azug (Belgium Microsoft Azure Group). I was surprised to discover an extremly active Azure community here. There were two tracks in parallel where different aspects of cloud and Azure were presented. All the sessions were interesting. The most important thing at all sessions was that speakers shared their own experience with cloud and Azure (in this way we can learn more easily, from the mistakes of others). And of course the beer sampling was a great experience, the art of making and drinking : -) beer was shared with us. In the second part of the day I delivered a session where I talked about how we can use Azure to improve the redundancy level of our systems with out of the box solutions offered by Microsoft Azure. ITDays took place on 25th and 26th of November 2014 Cluj-Napoca. This is an IT event dedicated to entrepreneurship, technology and innovation. This was the second year when this event took place in Cluj-Napoca and I hope that next year we will have another ITDays event. Last weekend we organized an internal hackathon (at practice level). Our main scope of this event was to port an application that was developed for iOS and Android to Windows Phone platform. Because there are only few days left until Windows Phone 8.1 update will be released we decided to develop the application directly for Windows Phone 8.1. During the weekend we had a great time, learning new stacks and how to use Blend. Yes, Blend – it is a great tool for UI, that can help you to create state of the art UI. At the end of this hackathon we were able to deliver a working application, with all the features in place, ready to hit Windows Store.
